Fun Facts

  • Like many other tree frogs, the adults of green tree frogs have large, adhesive toe pads that help them climb and adapt to life in the trees.

  • Though adult green tree frogs may not live near water, they can obtain water from rain collected on leaves and in crevices in tree trunks. During the dry season, they stay in tree hollows to prevent evaporation. Their skin also secretes a milky coating that helps preserve moisture and has antibacterial and antiviral properties.
