2014-04-24

At 12:10 p.m. today, the Raging River was temporarily suspended from operation due to the triggering of the ride’s brake sensor protection system. On-site staff immediately executed standard exiting procedures, as regularly practiced and reviewed for such situations. The first guest was safely exited at 12:20 p.m. By 12:38 p.m., all 13 passengers were exited safely from the ride, and there were no concerns reported by the guests subsequently. After thorough inspection and appropriate testing, the ride resumed operation at 1:12 p.m. The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) was notified of the incident immediately.

The safety of all Park guests is always top priority of Ocean Park. Operation of all rides within Ocean Park comply with and go beyond all relevant regulations and guidelines required by the Government. Handled by a team of 151, all 24 mechanical rides currently in operation are inspected on a daily basis. Periodical maintenance checks are also conducted on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis to ensure the safety of the mechanical rides.
