2010-12-15

(15 December 2010 - Hong Kong) This year, Ocean Park brings visitors a special attraction not to be missed – Hong Kong’s first ever Living Christmas Trees. Starting today, a pair of 20-foot Christmas trees situated at the Waterfront Plaza will be decorated with choir singers who will serenade you with your all-time favourite Christmas melodies. Kids and those young-at-heart can also pay a special visit to the Gingerbread Man’s House, where they can take photos with the loveable characters and create a stylish outfit for Gingerbread Man.

During the Christmas Holidays from 15 December 2010 to 2 January 2011, over 1,500 choir members from 34 local schools and organisations will gather at Ocean Park to stand high on a pair of 20-foot Christmas trees as they sing their Christmas carols. Yuen Man-fei, a five year-old K3 student of Jingle Bell Kindergarten, is thrilled to be part of the choir, ”I’ve carolled at Ocean Park for the past 2 years, but this year is so much fun! To be able to stand on a Christmas tree and enjoy the great scenery up there while I sing is fantastic. This year, I’ve prepared 7 songs and I can’t wait to perform them in front of everyone.”

The highlight of every evening will definitely be the Twinkle Twinkle Christmas Lights Show showcasing the giant 40-foot Christmas tree and the pair of 20-foot Christmas trees. The trees are lavishly decorated with thousands of light bulbs in different colours to create a unique viewing experience. Along with specially-selected background music, the show is a must-watch and is sure to make your Christmas most joyous.

Don’t forget to visit the Gingerbread Man’s House at Whisker’s Harbour to meet the lovely Gingerbread Family, all of whom are equally eager to take photos with you. Call upon your creative genius and show off your talent at Ginger Bread Dress Up by decorating a giant gingerbread man. A variety of interactive games with traditional Christmas themes will also be available. As Hong Kong’s People’s Park, Ocean Park will surely be your best destination to celebrate Christmas this season.
