Young Explorers Club – The ExpLEARNation

04.01.2022 - 30.04.2022

Step out of the classroom and explore more!

From January 2022, Ocean Park’s native English instructor, Miss Charlotte, will be leading a team of professional local instructors to lead children aged 6-10 on an edutaining Young Explorers Club journey - The ExpLEARNation! Using Ocean Park’s unique learning environment and selected locations in 3 districts, children could boost their confidence and increase their skills in effective English communication through this 4-week programme. Each week features one of these practical themes: greetings, daily items, navigation, and meals. Through interactive fun activities and experiential learning in real-life scenarios, children will express themselves more confidently in English and explore nature!

This programme is supported by the Tourism Commission.

    Key Features:

    • This new interactive programme, designed by a native English speaking instructor, features unique activities that build children’s confidence in conversational English. Through experiential learning during their exploration in the community and Ocean Park, the programme will spark children’s interest in both the language and nature.
    • Each week, there will be a specific theme closely related to daily lives and children can immediately put them into use. The themes are:
      • Week 1: Greetings (greetings, making new friends, etc.)
      • Week 2: Daily items (daily items and their use, seasonal variation of nature etc.)
      • Week 3: Navigation (route planning, ask for and giving directions, etc.)
      • Week 4: Meals (various cuisines and ingredients, animal’s diet, etc.)
    • Activities in Ocean Park will be led by our native English speaking instructor. By interacting, playing games, and role-playing in English, children can learn about the animals and nature in person, and express themselves in English in a relaxed atmosphere
    • Activities at the communities will be carried out in small groups and sometimes led by local instructors. Children will be immersed in a variety of real-life scenarios and practice their conversational English through various fun and interactive activities
    • The programme includes 4 adult complimentary admission tickets so that parents and children could continue exploring nature in Ocean Park together on Saturdays
    • Children will receive a certificate upon completing the programme
