In 2026, Hong Kong Ocean Park will collaborate with the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau of the HKSAR Government (HYAB) and cultural, nature conservation and scientific research institutions in the Mainland, including the Sichuan Provincial Administration of the Giant Panda National Park, China Conservation and Research Centre for the Giant Pandas, Laoshan National Laboratory, Wuyishan National Park Administration and Wuyi University to organize three HYAB Thematic Youth Internship Programmes to the Mainland 2026, namely the " Youth Internship Programme at Wolong Region of Giant Panda National Park", the " Youth Internship Programme at Shandong Qingdao on Marine Sciences” and the “Youth Internship Programme at Wuyishan on Biodiversity Conservation”. The programmes will provide diversified, distinctive and in-depth thematic internship opportunities, offering future career development. We hope to raise awareness of nature conservation and offer a platform for promoting cultural exchange.
Youth Internship Programme at Wolong Region of Giant Panda National Park (Wolong Programme)
The Wolong Programme will offer six-week internships in Wolong to 20 young people from Hong Kong in summer 2026. Internship positions include Field Researcher for Wildlife Conservation, Eco-tour Guide, Giant Panda Education Ambassador & Design and Content Developer on Wildlife and Culture Promotion. The programme aims to provide youth with professional training and practical work experience in nature conservation and ecotourism through thematic internship opportunities to enhance their future career development.
Youth Internship Programme at Shandong on Marine Sciences (Qingdao Programme)
The Qingdao Programme will offer three-week internships in Laoshan National Laboratory to 16 young people from Hong Kong in summer 2026. Internship positions include Research Assistant on Oceanography and Climatology, Research Assistant on Marine Resources and Research Assistant on Marine Equipment Design and Construction. The programme aims to provide youth with professional training and practical work experience in marine science and research conservation through thematic internship opportunities to enhance their future career development.
Youth Internship Programme at Wuyishan Biodiversity Conservation (Wuyishan Programme)
The Wuyishan Programme will offer three-week internships in the Wuyi University to 16 young people from Hong Kong in summer 2026. Internship positions include Ecological Researcher, Medical Plant Researcher, Environmental Technician in Soil and Air Monitoring, Tea and Cultural Researcher & Design and Content Developer on Wildlife and Culture Promotion. The programme aims to provide youth with professional training and practical work experience in biodiversity and environmental conservation through thematic internship opportunities to enhance their future career development.
