Note to Parents

Dear Parents and our teammates,

Getting Ready for this adventure!

Welcome on board! We're sure you're all excited for the upcoming adventure. Please take note of the following information to ensure you're appropriately equipped for the activities. Please bear with us!

WHAT SHOULD WE PACK?

Essentials  Optional items
  • Backpack

  • Water bottle (around 500ml)

  • Jacket

  • Sunscreen and Hat

  • Raincoat (umbrella is not recommended)

  • Personal disinfectant products (i.e. Hand sanitizer)

  • Eating utensils (for Rovers)

  1. Tissue paper

  2. Rubbing alcohol

  3. Mosquito repellent

  4. Sunglasses

  5. Personal medication (if necessary)

  6. Spare face masks

*Please label all belongings. Every season we end up with lots of unclaimed items. All unclaimed items will be turned into Lost and Found at the end of the programme.

WHAT TYPE OF CLOTHING SHOULD WE WEAR?

Each participant will receive a name badge at the registration and are required to wear their name badges throughout the programme. This allows us to easily recognise them when we are out in the Park with many other visitors.

  • Outfit: Trousers are recommended. Skirts and dresses are not advised. We will be doing all sorts of activities and moving around in the park. Please come prepared to get dirty!
  • Raincoat: The show must go on! We like to get outside, even when it's a bit wet!
  • Footwear: Please make sure shoes are fit-sized and closed-toe. No flip flops - as they will be running and walking long distances. Waterproof boots and a pair of dry socks are good ideas in case of unpredictable weather!
  • Valuables: We won't be needing them! We won't be using personal multimedia or recording electronic devices like mobile phones. So why don't we leave them at home and go explore around?

WHAT FOOD AND DRINKS WILL BE PROVIDED?

  • Meals. Depending on the time and length of programmes, meals will be provided to Rovers. Please refer to the link for more details on meal arrangement.
  • No spending money during the programme. Please do not bring money for food or gift shop items.
  • Allergies.  If participants are allergic to certain food/objects/animal, kindly indicate the conditions clearly on the application form. This information could help us understand them better and provide any support or assistance when needed.

If you are going to be late or absence from programme, please notify us as soon as possible at (852) 3923 2323 (choose the language and then press [4] for Ocean Park Discovery & Education Department)

You may reserve a parking space at least one day before your visit and pay the deposit online. Parking spaces will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Be aware that the car park often fills up fast during holidays. Please give yourself ample time to find a parking spot. For details, please click the button below.

We also recommend taking available public transport to Ocean Park, such as a bus or the MTR. The walk from the bus stop at Aberdeen Tunnel to Ocean Park is only 10 minutes. There is an MTR exit connecting directly to Ocean Park Main Entrance.

HOW DO PARENTS ASK FOR PARTICIPANTS TO BE ASSIGNED IN THE SAME GROUP?

You may request that friends and family be grouped together by completing the remarks column during enrolment, and we will try our best to fulfil your request. Each group can have a maximum of 6 participants. (only applicable for the same class code)

WHAT IS THE INSTRUCTOR TO PARTICIPANT RATIO?

There will be at least one instructor in each group.

WHAT WILL WE DO IN THE PROGRAMME?

The programme consists of indoor and outdoor activities, which include, but are not limited to, seeing animals, group games and hands on creation. Please pack your bag according to the recommended list above. Ocean Park Corporation will take photos and videos during the adventure programme for any publicity or promotional materials of Ocean Park. Other participants or parents of children joining the adventure programme will also have access to these items.

The primary responsibility of our programme's instructors is to ensure a smooth and safe experience, facilitating a memorable and enjoyable experience for all participants. The photography service is a complimentary offering and is not included in the programme fee. This service is provided by the programme's instructors, in order to assist parents in learning more about the programme.

Please note that the photography content will not include individual portraits, Back of House shots, or interactions with animals, and may not encompass all other activities. As our instructors are not professional photographers, the quality of the photos may not fully meet all parents' expectations. We regret that we won't be able to accommodate individual requests from parents for participants' photographs. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

We extend our sincere gratitude for your valuable support and participation. We look forward to continuing to provide an enriching experience that combines entertainment and education for everyone.

For an overview of the programme, please refer to the programme content:
