The Ocean Park STEAM Student Competition 2020

Ocean Park is proud to present The Ocean Park STEAM Student Competition 2020. Primary and secondary school students in all parts of the world are invited to propose creative solutions to animal conservation issues. The Competition is aimed at encouraging students to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired from STEAM-related disciplines in proposing their innovative animal conservation solutions.

Eligibility

  1. Maximum of 2 teams from each school;
  2. Maximum of 5 students in each team and each student can only be in 1 team;
  3. At least 1 supervising teacher from each school; and
  4. Top 5 schools in each topic of the First Round Assessment will be selected to enter the Final Round Presentation.

Competition Topics

The theme of the competition is “Innovation for Animals”.

Participants will be assigned their respective topics depending on their levels.
 
Levels Topics Participants have to
Primary Level (P.1 – P.6) “Red-handed Tamarin” Design environmental enrichments for red-handed tamarin
Secondary Level (S.1 – S.6) “Green Sea Turtle” Design environmental enrichments for green sea turtle

Competition Timeline

Application Deadline for Competition Briefing Session November 6, 2019 (Wednesday) 23:59 (Hong Kong Standard Time)
Competition Briefing Session November 16 & 23, 2019 (Saturday)

Deadline for entering the Competition January 10, 2020 (Friday) 23:59 (Hong Kong Standard Time)
Final Round Presentation July 4, 2020 (Saturday)
