Nature+ Programme  – Local Eco Walker (Primary 4 – 6 & Secondary 1 – 6) 

Eco-Learning Activities

OPAHK’s Local Eco Walker Learning Activities provide students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in nature and explore Hong Kong’s biodiversity by discovering a multitude of local flora and fauna. Throughout this learning journey, students are inspired to appreciate and treasure our natural resources. We emphasise experiential and interdisciplinary learning in our activities, creating a self-directed learning platform for students.

    Park Walker

    • Understand the features of common flora and fauna in Hong Kong, and their interdependent relationships
    • Acquire the skills to conduct ecological survey by using mobile microscope from a scientific perspective
     

    Night Walker

    • Have a night walk in local country parks and investigate the amazing characteristics of nocturnal animals in the dark
    • Acquire the techniques to conduct ecological field studies in the wild through experiencing infrared camera installation
     

    Dolphin Seeker (Available for Secondary 1-6 only)

    • Take a boat trip to find Chinese white dolphins around Hong Kong and learn about their special features and behaviours
    • Explore the current threats faced by Chinese white dolphins and rethink the importance of sustainable development and environmental conservation

    ˇProgramme fee includes eco-learning activity only. The aforementioned programmes are only available for schools which have participated in the in-park OPAHK education programmes within 3 academic years.

    Ocean Park issues 1 teacher complimentary ticket for every 10 student tickets purchased per group, so they can accompany students to the activity (Not applicable to Dolphin Seeker).

    The programme fees are valid until 31 August 2021.
