First Touch with Creatures of the Land and Sea

Through simple, direct messages and lively teaching methods, pre-schoolers will gain a basic understanding of our nature. They will also experience close encounters with creatures of the land and sea in these visually and sensory stimulating journeys. The programmes are specially designed to provide a learning experience that helps children develop their knowledge, skills and attitudes.

    近年,我校有連續帶學生參加「海洋嘉年華」,學生對此興趣甚濃。「海洋嘉年華」課程的內容平均,動靜佳宜,包括展館參觀講解、布偶劇場和接觸海洋生物-海星和海參。透過以上的活動,帶出愛護海洋世界的訊息,以及生態環境與人類的關係。我亦很欣賞現時的師生比例安排,令行程更安全順暢。

    「南澳探險隊」課程能夠配合我校動物課程單元內容。我們很欣賞幼兒可以在聽講的過程中能夠有試玩的機會,讓他們先了解小袋鼠和樹熊的資料,然後再去展館參觀和觀察,加深對南澳動物的印象。

    「大熊貓跡中尋」的課程配合本校專題研習主題-保育瀕危絕種的動物。這課程能讓幼兒認識動物的身體特徵、居住環境和食物,從而反思保育動物的方法。課程導師透過布偶劇講述故事,吸引幼兒專注投入。同時,導師能夠照顧每位幼兒,讓他們有輪流發言的機會。

    The PANtastic Footprints

    • Take part in an interactive puppet show to learn about the giant panda and determine the story’s ending
    • Discover the relationship between Sichuan animals’ body features and their habitat through painting the giant panda’s home

    Tree Huggers Expedition

    • Accompany us through our Adventures in Australia and explore the special features of Australian animals
    • Join the expedition to learn about the threats facing by koalas through an exciting story
    • Enjoy great interactive games to understand the importance of sharing water resources with other living creatures on this planet

    Ocean Carnival

    • Motivate children’s curiosity through close contact with our seashore animals
    • Visit the Grand Aquarium to meet our resident species
    • Explore the unique features of various sea creatures during the interactive puppet show

    North Pole Buddies

    • Spot animal footprints at the North Pole Encounter and train children’s observation skills
    • Open your ears to the fascinating story of the polar animals
    • Solve puzzles depicting good green habits

    Rainforest Tribal Party

    • Wear distinctive tribal jewellery and join the fun at the tribal party
    • Imitate animals’ moves and have a happy dance
    • Visit our lively and cute animals in the Rainforest

    # One-way travelling time between the Ocean Park Main Entrance and The Summit is about 45 minutes. Please allow sufficient time to reach the course location and return from Ocean Park.

    ˇIncludes 1-hour educational programme and 1-hour self-visit at the Park

     

    Ocean Park issues 1 complimentary teacher's ticket for every 5 student tickets purchased per group, so they can accompany students to the classroom session. An extra programme fee applies for any additional teacher to enter the Park. Students cannot use the complimentary teacher tickets, and vice versa. All participants are expected to leave Ocean Park after the education programme. Participants who would like to remain at the Park and enjoy its facilities after the programme must apply in advance and pay a stay-behind surcharge.

    The programme fees are valid until 31 August 2018.

    Mingle in the Jungle (NEW) (Available from October to April only)

    (This programme does not include classroom activities.)

    • Explore the environment with the Ants Army from the story "Whiskers and Friends: Journey to the Jungle of Giants"*
    • Observe indigenous birds in the Park and find out the uniqueness of their native animal neighbours through activity
    • Through collecting natural loose parts and creating with them, learn to appreciate and respect nature

    * “Whiskers & Friends: Journey to the Jungle of Giants” is one of the stories of the “Whiskers & Friends” Kindergarten Education Kit. E-versions and online materials are available here for free access by all Hong Kong kindergartens.

    Land and Sea Excursion

    (This programme does not include classroom activities.)

    • Visit animals' homes at the Grand Aquarium, Amazing Asian Animals and the Hong Kong Jockey Club Sichuan Treasures to appreciate their special talents for surviving in different seasons
    • Get involved in mini-games to generate good ideas on protecting different animals
    • Complete a puzzle together and discover more about humans and nature

    Backpacker Journey

    (This programme does not include classroom activities.)

    • Observe the relationship between animals and the environment in our Polar Adventure and the Rainforest
    • Discover the unique features of different animals through various sensory experiences
    • Learn to develop good habits to protect animals' homes
