At 1:14pm this afternoon (15 February 2014), the Eagle ride, located at the Summit area of Ocean Park, was suspended during normal operation at approximately 12 metres off the ground due to a control device failure. At the time of the ride suspension, there were 16 guests on the ride. EMSD was notified of the incident immediately.
The ride was brought down to the ground manually by the Ride Maintenance Engineer within 34 minutes. All passengers were exited from their gondolas safely without reporting any discomfort or illnesses. The Eagle was closed for review and further maintenance assessment.
