Born to their mother Ying Ying on 15 August 2024, Jia Jia and De De have captured the hearts of Hong Kong and beyond. As they turn one, the Park is inviting one-year-old children born in Hong Kong on the same day as the cubs to participate in a special birthday party to be held on 15 August!
Panda-monium across the city
This August, the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, the Hong Kong Tourism Board, together with Ocean Park, will transform Hong Kong into a vibrant birthday wonderland, extending the celebration beyond Ocean Park’s gates and bringing the joy of the panda twins to every corner of the city.
- Exclusive collectibles: In a special initiative co-organised by the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, the Hong Kong Tourism Board and Ocean Park, the LABUBU x Panda Twins Lucky Draw* offers visitors the chance to win Birthday-edition LABUBU x Panda Twins vinyl toys designed by local artist Kasing Lung.
- Global buzz: The panda birthday celebration campaign, amplified by global panda fans and overseas KOLs sending birthday blessings, ensures the twins’ special day resonates worldwide.
- Panda joy on the move: Look out for our beloved panda twins and the adorable Ocean Park Panda Friends characters appearing on various modes of transportation across Hong Kong, and special street name plates, spreading cheer and excitement throughout the urban landscape.
Step into Ocean Park and immerse in a vibrant celebration designed to delight visitors of all ages!
- Immersive ambience: The Park comes alive with vibrant Panda Friends decorations and panda graphics skilfully painted by water-gun artists. Adding to the festive atmosphere, live band performances will surround everyone with joyful tunes, creating an incredible birthday vibe.
- Interactive adventures: Join the fun by completing a special birthday card for Jia Jia and De De! Collect colourful stamps at six unique stamp stations around the Park to create a playful layered design. Don’t miss the Pan-tastic Cake Walk, where giant inflatable versions of Jia Jia and De De roam the Park with the Panda Friends crew and their magnificent cake, a larger-than-life celebration on the move!
- Gala of Lights – panda birthday edition: As night falls, the festivities reach their peak at Aqua City Lagoon with the Gala of Lights – Panda Birthday Edition! Witness stunning image projections of Jia Jia and De De, alongside mesmerising water screens and dancing fountains that illuminate the night sky in a magical spectacle you won’t forget.
- Exclusive delights: From 15 to 17 August 2025, Park visitors may receive delightful surprise gifts, adding an extra layer of excitement to their visit.
- Delicious sensations: Indulge in a variety of panda-themed food and beverage options, and take home exclusive souvenirs to remember this special occasion.
For an even more intimate and truly special celebration, Ocean Park is hosting The Panda Twins' Grand Birthday Party on 15 August 2025. This party will bring together participants at an exclusive event as well as a private session to visit the cubs and their parents Ying Ying and Le Le at the Giant Panda Adventure.
- A shared milestone for Hong Kong’s youngest#: Ocean Park is recruiting 20 toddlers who are born in Hong Kong and share the same birthday as Jia Jia and De De (born on 15 August 2024), along with their families to join a heartwarming celebration. This is a historic opportunity for Hong Kong's youngest to share their special day together with the city’s beloved panda cubs. Toddlers attending also stand a chance to receive birthday gift packs from the Park and sponsors!
- Exclusive access for members#: Ocean Park Annual Members and members of the Panda Twins Fan Club will also get a chance to join this exclusive party. Participants will also receive gifts from the Park and sponsors.
- For toddler’s families: Families can enrol by commenting on a designated post on Ocean Park’s official Facebook and Instagram pages. The enrolment period runs from 24 July to 4 August 2025. Participants with the most thoughtful and creative comments will win a spot at the party and be notified via direct message on 5 August 2025. Successful registrants must present their child's birth certificate for verification upon entry.
- For Ocean Park Annual Members or Panda Twins Fan Club members: Enrolment will be conducted via the Ocean Park’s official website on a first-come, first-served basis. The enrolment period runs from 11am on 30 July to 11:59pm on 13 August 2025. Winners will be notified via email upon successful registration. Successful registrants must present their confirmation email and valid membership for verification upon entry.
