Ocean Park is saddened to announce the loss of our 18-year-old female Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphin, Dumisa, on 11 April 2023.
Dumisa arrived Hong Kong from South Africa in 2009 and required advanced dental care. A computed tomography (CT) scan procedure was scheduled for in-depth assessment with the goal of strengthening her care plan. Unfortunately, Dumisa died of fatal complication.
Currently, there are 20 Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins residing at Ocean Park. The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department has been notified of the incident.
