Response to Rumors of a Child Abduction Incident at Ocean Park

2010-03-22

It has come to the attention of Ocean Park that an email regarding a possible incident that might have occurred at Ocean Park is recently being circulated. In particular, the email referred to an attempted child abduction incident that might have taken place on a Friday afternoon within Ocean Park premises.

In response to the above email, Ocean Park has confirmed that no record or evidence of such an incident has been found. As such, Ocean Park has grounds to believe that the incident alleged in the email is unsubstantiated and unfounded. Ocean Park treats such allegations very seriously and will take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the general public and all guests at Ocean Park. The Park has therefore notified the Hong Kong Police Force and has sought their assistance in investigating the above matter.

Ocean Park would like to reassure its guests that the Park has a strong security system in place to ensure the safety and well-being of its guests at all times. Security guards are stationed at key attraction areas, and regular patrolling sessions are conducted throughout the day within the premises of Ocean Park. In addition, a CCTV surveillance system is in place to monitor all major attractions, entry and exit points of these attractions, as well as other public areas within Ocean Park.

Members of the general public with further enquiries or concerns may call Ocean Park’s Guest Services hotline at (852) 3923 2323.
