About 1,000 People Took Part in Ocean Park’s Halloween Fest Talent Hunt Recruitment Day Candidates Took Acting Tests On-site and 5 Prospective Halloween Performers Were Selected

2014-06-15

In the run-up to the Ocean Park Halloween Fest, Asia’s largest Halloween celebration, Ocean Park held it’s recruitment event at Langham Place today, in search for brave and energetic souls to fill nearly 2,000 positions, including Halloween performers, backstage crew members, frontline and logistical staff to join this year’s team. During the event, different representatives from Ocean Park’s hiring departments shared details about the respective vacancies available, and on-site registration, interviews and auditions, were arranged for those who were interested. Of all the positions available, the position of Halloween performers was the most popular. Today’s candidates came from all walks of life, including students, clerks, accountants, teachers, nurses, and university students who are looking to challenge themselves with this scary but fun job.

During the event, the Halloween Show Director, who is looking for prospective performers with outstanding acting skills, tested candidates with acting challenges, and the 5 prospective Halloween performers who have been selected today will enter the next round of interview. One of the selected performers, Skyan Chan, currently a Form 6 student, expressed interest in developing in the performing arts area, and although she did not sit her HKDSE exams this year, she hopes that, through performing in this year’s Halloween Fest, she can gain valuable experience so she can apply and study courses in performing arts overseas.

Ocean Park is recruiting 1,000 Halloween performers, 400 backstage crew members, and more than 500 frontline and logistical staff to join this year’s team to help create the creepiest and most exciting all-day-and-night Halloween event in town. Starting from next week till August, other phases of the recruitment drive will be held at Eaton Hotel Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and at the Labour Department’s Hong Kong East Job Centre.  For more details about recruitment events and the interviews, please visit http://halloween.oceanpark.com.hk/en/recruitment.html.
