In celebration of the 110th Anniversary of Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, the group of Chinese astronauts and their families were invited to visit Hong Kong and to spend a day at Ocean Park today. After receiving a warm welcome at the Main Entrance, the group visited the Amazing Asian Animals where they saw many precious Asian animals and learned about their habitats, behaviors and conservation messages from one of the Park’s education ambassadors.
Also a must-see is the recently opened “Chinese Sturgeon Aquarium – Yangtze Exploration” – in addition to observing the graceful movements of the distinctive fish species, the group had an opportunity to learn about the conservation of freshwater wildlife and water resources through the explanation by the Park’s education ambassador.
The group also paid a visit to the Ocean Theatre where they enjoyed a spectacular dolphin and sealion show, “Sea Dreams!” and an intimate encounter with the dolphins. They also visited other attractions including Sea Jelly Spectacular and Pacific Pier.
The gallant astronauts recounted their day with excitement, “It is such an amazing experience to be able to touch and feel the dolphins! Ocean Park is endowed with great natural features and has a large collection of animals including ones I’ve never seen before. This is definitely the most unforgettable highlight of our trip in Hong Kong.”
