Ocean Park Takes Halloween Celebration to New Heights with All Day and Night Halloween Fest New Presentation for All Ages with Fun-tastic and Frightfully Fun Experiences

2013-08-27

(27 August 2013 - Hong Kong) Ocean Park’s signature Halloween celebration brought frightful fun to millions of guests over the past 12 years and is today an important annual seasonal event in Hong Kong. Entering its 13th year of Halloween celebrations, Ocean Park will present an all-new, all day and night Halloween Fest on 17 event days from 1 to 31 October, where a regular daytime ticket will enable each guest to enjoy Hong Kong’s largest Halloween event from all day to night. The event will feature fun-tastic attractions for the whole family, haunted houses for the young and brave, as well as heart-pounding performances throughout the park.

Ms. Vivian Lee, Ocean Park’s Director of Marketing, said, “Over the past 13 years, Ocean Park’s Halloween celebration has become Asia’s largest Halloween themed event and one of the most anticipated seasonal festivities in Hong Kong. By introducing Halloween celebrations, the event has helped Hong Kong garner the reputation as the destination for Halloween revelry. To learn about the needs and preferences of guests, independent consultants are engaged every year to conduct market research and analysis of the event’s success. The results show that more and more people look to the Halloween event for both fun elements for the family as well as exciting experiences for the young and brave. Living up to our reputation for creativity and innovation, we are taking our Halloween celebration to a higher level this year with the first-ever all day and night Halloween Fest. With a single ticket, guests can enjoy all the Halloween experiences we have in store, from day to night.”
Ms. Lee added, “To meet the needs of different guests and visiting parties, we have even created multiple zones, from the fun-tastic to the frightful. Both families and thrill-seekers will find it convenient to enjoy the various experiences we have prepared for them. All in all, everyone will help us mark a new milestone for Halloween celebration at Ocean Park.”

The logo for Ocean Park’s Halloween celebration has become as iconic as the event itself. To complement this year’s revolutionary all day and night format, a new logo has been created – signifying the fact that the Halloween Fest spans all day and night. Also, to give the public an exciting preview of Halloween Fest, Ocean Park has specially produced two viral videos featuring the inimitable Helena Law to showcase the countless surprises for guests from day to night. The horrifying and hilarious videos can be viewed on YouTube at (http://www.youtube.com/hkoceanpark/).

Mr. Nick Lee, Senior Food and Beverage Operations Manager, said, “Ocean Park’s annual Halloween celebration is an excellent occasion for us to put on display our creativity in preparing delicious new dishes that feature visually fun designs. With more Halloween fans spending time and dining at Ocean Park from day to night this year, we expect our food and beverage sales will see a 10% increase compared to the same period last year.”

Mr. Lee added, “This year’s behind-the-scene hero in the catering department is our new Executive Chef Lewis Lau. With over 30 years of culinary experience, Lewis has worked at many top hotels and fine-dining restaurants. He is also a 2010 recipient of the commandeur de la commanderie des cordons bleus de France, a testament of his culinary skills. As Lewis loves coming up with new dishes, guests can expect the unexpected during this year’s Halloween Fest.”

Ms. Vania Mak, Retail Operations Merchandising Manager, said, “As Ocean Park’s Halloween celebration is a signature event, guests always like to take home seasonal souvenirs for decoration and dressing up. Their popularity can be seen from last year’s event, where Halloween items accounted for 10% of all merchandise sales. With this year’s Halloween Fest expected to draw even larger crowds, we have designed more clothing and souvenirs suitable for parents and kids. Retail sales is projected to record double-digit growth compared to last year.”
