The Sky's The Limit! SkyFair to Open at Ocean Park Lunar Lucky Fiesta Rise 120 metres Into the Air this Chinese New Year on Hong Kong's First Giant Helium Balloon Enjoy 39+ CNY Attractions & Win over 338,000 Prizes at the Golden Piggy Lucky Draw!

2007-02-08

(7 February 2007, Hong Kong) Ocean Park welcomes the Year of the Pig with a colorful explosion by launching two major festive highlights – the 2007 Lunar Lucky Fiesta, featuring 39 additional attractions starting 18 February, and the Grand Opening of SkyFair, the latest permanent attraction at Ocean Park, on an auspicious day to be announced during the Lunar New Year period.

Once SkyFair is opened, guests can ride the key attraction, a 22-metre diameter helium balloon ride – the first and largest of its kind in Hong Kong – that can take up to 29 passengers at a time, to a lofty height of 120 meters above ground. The one-of-a-kind helium balloon attraction will be complemented by an action-packed entertainment schedule, featuring the Balloonatics, a professional flying troupe from the Mainland; a gravity-defying Bungee trampoline for the athlete-at-heart, as well as popular eating and shopping experiences and unusual photo op locations. There will also be bird flight demonstrations where our favorite feathered friends, Tai Po, Mike and Polly, will meet and greet guests, while Education Ambassadors explain how the way they fly have inspired the development of man’s aviation efforts.

For the 2007 Lunar Lucky Fiesta on the other hand, guests can explore all the regular favourites, along with 39 additional Lunar attractions throughout the park. During the festive period, guests will be welcomed by the icons for Luck, Prosperity and Longevity, as well as Whiskers and friends in traditional Chinese costumes. Guests can also visit the God of Fortune Palace, or take a romantic stroll down Peach Blossom Lane after enjoying the Lunar Showcase featuring the renowned Xian Drum Troupe, Martial Arts Show, and Dragon & Lion Dance performances. What’s more, the ongoing Celebration for the Senses will continue, featuring Spellbound on Ice, “Top of The Pops” Variety Show, and many other fun activities throughout the park.

“We are thankful for the enthusiastic support the Hong Kong people have given us through the years; we will continue to do our best in the coming years, producing more exciting programs and activities,” said Dr Allan Zeman, Chairman of Ocean Park. “We are delighted to kick off our 2007 Lunar Lucky Fiesta on 18 February. And don’t forget the Ocean Park 30th Anniversary – A Celebration for the Senses, which will continue full force, every weekend and on public holidays, throughout the festive season. Partying at Ocean Park just keeps getting better!” he said.

“SkyFair is a fantastic attraction and we can’t wait to share it with everyone this Lunar New Year period,” he added, “Please stay tuned for further announcements and be sure to check it out – it’s unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before!”

And finally, everyone is invited to try out their lunar luck at Ocean Park’s Golden Piggy Lucky Draw. With 338,000 fabulous prizes totaling over HK$8 million, including an OSIM iSymphonic Chair, a banquet dinner for 12 at Heichinrou Restaurant, select Rasonic products, Toys R Us cash coupons, buffet coupons at Le Meridien, annual SmartFun Pass to Ocean Park, pure gold “Golden Piggy” figurine, and much, much more – everyone can be a winner this Lunar Lucky Fiesta!

Ocean Park Lunar Lucky Fiesta begins on 18 February 2007 and continues through 4 March 2007, opening daily from 10am to 8pm between 18 and 25 February, and opening from 10am to 7pm after 25 February. 39 additional new attractions are featured, including the Golden Piggy Lucky Draw, Peach Blossom Lane, Dragon & Lion Dance, Bird Meet & Greet, Festive Food & Drink.
