Terokai apa itu Ocean Park.
Giant pandas An An and Ke Ke arrived in Hong Kong just a year ago on 26 September 2024. Their playful antics and endearing personalities have since captured the hearts of visitors and caretakers alike.
“Watching An An and Ke Ke blossom over the past year has been truly cheering. They’ve shown us their unique personalities and built strong bonds with our team. They even experienced their very first typhoon in Hong Kong and weathered the storm calmly. We are excited for what the future holds,” said Ivan Wong, Chief Executive of Ocean Park Corporation.
With a carefully planned diet, enriching activities and the devoted care of the Park’s animal caretakers, both pandas have adapted well to their new home at Ocean Park. They are thriving on a diverse diet comprising a broader selection of bamboo, high-fibre biscuits, fruits and wowotou, with bamboo shoots and stalks and wowotou as their favourites.
An eventful year: growth and unique moments
“An An is a gentle giant panda with a sensitive soul. He’s tall, muscular, and has a hearty appetite. But in charming contrast to his physically strong appearance, he’s perceptive to even the slightest change in his environment. Ke Ke is a night owl with a strong independent streak. She enjoys immersing herself in her own space, but as her bond with our caretakers grows, she now approaches the gate to ask for a back scratch often,” said Howard Chuk, Executive Director of Zoological Operations and Conservation of Ocean Park Corporation.
“Through positive reinforcement training, both pandas have grown more comfortable with husbandry routines. An An now voluntarily allows blood draws and injections, while Ke Ke is gradually resuming training after the past estrous cycle,” continued Chuk.
