Ocean Park Conservation Foundation, Hong Kong (OPCFHK) today announced Cantopop diva Joey Yung as the OPCFHK Ambassador. This strong partnership aims to promote wildlife conservation and related educational initiatives across Hong Kong and other parts of Asia.
Ahead of her birthday today (16 June), a host of supporters gathered at Ocean Park over the weekend for an early celebration. Making the occasion even more meaningful, Joey Yung led 29 children and their families on a special visit to the penguins at Ocean Park’s South Pole Spectacular. Through a guided tour by animal caretakers and a rare opportunity to feed King, Southern Rockhopper, and Gentoo penguins up close, she inspired the next generation to understand the unique habitats of these animals, fostering a deep and lifelong appreciation for environmental protection.
To celebrate Joey Yung joining the Park’s conservation forces, Ivan Wong, Chief Executive of Ocean Park Corporation and Trustee Member of OPCFHK, presented her with a specially crafted, giant birthday card to mark the official launch of this partnership.
"We are deeply honoured that Miss Joey Yung has accepted our invitation to become our Conservation Ambassador,” said Ivan Wong. “She has always cared deeply about the development of children and is committed to bringing them diverse learning opportunities, perfectly embodying our shared commitment to education and conservation. The Park is grateful to Miss Joey Yung for leveraging her immense influence to advocate for wildlife and public welfare, helping the next generation thrive.”
Expressing her excitement about the new role, Joey Yung shared, “I absolutely adore children and animals, so being a Conservation Ambassador is the perfect combination of promoting conservation and children’s education. I look forward to doing my part for nature and wildlife through this partnership, and will actively champion environmental protection to the public, especially the younger generation." Her remarks drew enthusiastic cheers from fans and guests in the audience.
Moving forward, Ocean Park and Joey Yung will work hand-in-hand to bring inspiring learning experiences to students of all ages. Through upcoming conservation and fundraising initiatives, the public is invited and encouraged to transform their love for animals into a powerful force for protecting nature.
