2020-08-17

Stamp Set Features Ocean Park's Lovable Animal Ambassadors and Spectacular Scenery to Wow Philatelists

Ocean Park, in conjunction with Hongkong Post, will launch a series of philatelic products on 18 August designed with an Ocean Park theme that features many of the Park’s most compelling visuals. The collection encompasses an array of stamp sets, postcard sets, a stamp sheetlet, and other items that philatelists in Hong Kong and around the world are certain to love.

Ahead of the launch, Ocean Park’s iconic mascot, Whiskers, made a surprise visit to Hong Kong’s General Post Office in Central to preview the collection. Whiskers, in his trademark style, brought smiles to onlookers when he showed off the new collection’s depiction of Ocean Park’s popular animal ambassadors.

Unique Design with Precise Details
Hongkong Post’s Ocean Park series is a recognition of the Park’s great work in connecting people with nature, and promoting animal conservation and environmental protection. The newly-released stamp set features portraits of six of the Park’s iconic animal ambassadors, including the giant panda, penguin, meerkat, dolphin, Sichuan golden snub-nosed monkey and toco toucan. The postcard set, meanwhile, specially showcases photos of the famous ambassadors, including the giant pandas Ying Ying and Le Le, and the recently joined meerkat family. Another highlight of the series is the stamp sheetlet that features a panoramic view of Ocean Park and its attractions in exquisite detail that captures an attractive mix of leisure time and green elements.
