2012-09-10

(10 September 2012, Hong Kong) Setting trends in frightful fun for a 12th year, Ocean Park is making this year’s Ocean Park Halloween Bash even trendier with a first-ever collaboration with MIMO under Universal Models (UML) Hobby Store, Hong Kong's largest model and toy shop, on a set of fearsome figures, including one inspired by the “IN an EERIE” Collection designed by the Hip Halloween Master Wyman Wong. Ocean Park is also introducing a series of limited-edition Halloween-themed treats, including Almond White Truffle Cakes that look scarily like a stack of Chinese joss paper; Roasted Chicken Wrapped in Bacon Served with Meat Sauce, Potatoes and Roasted Vegetables; the delightful Phantom Muffin; as well as other spooky merchandise, offering guests delightfully creative dining and retail experiences during Hauntingly Hip Halloween!

Halloween Combo Menu a Frightful Feast for Eyes and Taste Buds
Knowing that hip Halloween fans would not settle for everyday fare, Ocean Park has ingeniously created a series of healthy and delicious dishes using adaptable ingredients. The feast starts with the appetising Smoked Duck Breast on Mesclun with Black Truffle and Tomato Coulis, followed by Butternut Squash Soup with Chicken and Spinach, a nutritious blood-coloured soup. For the main course, guests can choose between Roasted Chicken Wrapped in Bacon Served with Meat Sauce, Potatoes and Roasted Vegetables and Steamed Salmon Roulade with Scallop and Basil Confit Served with Potatoes and Roasted Vegetables. The tender wrapped chicken is served with meat sauce and roasted vegetables, complemented with claw-like potato wedges, making the dish appear like the crawling hand of a ghost! The steamed salmon roulade features American salmon and sashimi-grade scallops, prepared with white wine and served fresh potatoes and vegetables arranged in the shape of a skull. The feast concludes with White Chocolate Mousse with Black Sesame and Strawberry Sauce.

For Halloween fans who avoid meat, Ocean Park has also created a Halloween Vegetarian Menu, which starts off with a healthy and refreshing Avocado and Bell Pepper Salad with Cottage Cheese, followed by Cream of Carrot with Beet Root and Baked Baby Pumpkin with Spaghetti and Forest Mushrooms, featuring a smile carved on the pumpkin for a spooky effect.

Kids can also enjoy a frighteningly satisfying feast with the Halloween Kids Menu on offer at Ocean Park. The meal comes with Devil Eyes, a special minty drink, and Lychee, Carrot and Potato Salad, with eyeball-like-lychees and a sweet-and-sour taste that particularly appeals to kids. With kids-favourite Deep-fried Chicken Nugget and Mummy Hot Dog (Baked Sausage with Puff Pastry) as main course items and Egg Puff with Chocolate Mousse for dessert, young Park guests will definitely be licking the plates clean.

Scarily Realistic Halloween Cake
Ocean Park has developed a strong reputation for presenting the cheekiest Halloween cakes. This year, the team has created an Almond White Truffle Cake that looks scarily like a stack of Chinese joss paper, with gold flakes and almond white chocolate for a sweetly wacky experience. Also amazing are the Mixed Fruit Butter Cake in the shape of a bat and the zombie-themed Raspberry Mousse Cake. The popular Chocolate Coffin Cake is back by popular demand, allowing guests to inscribe not only a golden greeting but also the recipient’s name on the lid of the coffin.

To satisfy guests rushing to enjoy all the attractions during Hauntingly Hip Halloween, the Park will continue to offer guest favourites such as Grilled Sausage, Mummy Hot Dog , Phantom Muffin and Worms Jelly.

Halloween Bash Merchandise
To enable guests to take home the spirit of Halloween, Ocean Park has collaborated with MIMO under Universal Models (UML) Hobby Store – Hong Kong's largest model and toy shop – for the first time ever on a set of Halloween-themed figures, including Sadaku, AK Halloween, and Yoppie Halloween. The highlight of the series is a figure based on “Fashion Frenzy”, a style in the “IN an EERIE” Collection designed by Hip Halloween Master Wyman. The figure perfectly captures Wyman’s dramatic design vision. Moreover, Ocean Park has launched a series of spooky souvenirs, including the Spooktacular family T-shirt collection, as well as gold and silver joss paper collection smartphone bags; guests can also choose among various merchandise featuring Ocean Park’s animal ambassadors in Halloween costume.
