Ocean Park Hosts “Eat Local” Business Forum to Drive Collaboration and Innovation for Building Resilient Local Food Systems

2026-04-22

Ocean Park convened its Eat Local Business Forum on Earth Day 2026, gathering key stakeholders to collectively advance the sustainable development of Hong Kong’s food systems. As the annual flagship event of the Eat Local campaign launched by Ocean Park, which in just two years has partnered with over 220 businesses to promote locally-sourced food supplies across the city, the forum served as a platform to facilitate the exchange of best practices, and explore new opportunities for strengthening Hong Kong’s local food infrastructure.

The discussions at the forum delved into the sustainable development and challenges facing the local food industry, exploring how collaboration can enhance the supply and demand for local ingredients.

“The Eat Local campaign embodies Ocean Park’s commitment to conservation and sustainable living,” said Ivan Wong, Chief Executive of Ocean Park Corporation. “Reaching over 220 partners in just two years is a testament to the industry’s dedication to co-creating robust local food systems. By strengthening this cooperation network and sharing success stories, more restaurants and retailers will be encouraged to utilise and sell fresh local produce, ultimately boosting consumer recognition and preference for Hong Kong’s food products. This forum provides a vital platform for industry stakeholders to deepen collaboration, innovate, and increase public awareness of the benefits and importance of local, low-carbon and sustainable food choices.”

Ocean Park remains committed to working alongside its partners to enhance the momentum for the sustainable development of Hong Kong’s food industries and inject new vitality into the local dining culture, contributing to a healthier planet.  The campaign slogan of “Eat closer, Eat fresher, Eat locally fresh” signifies not only the quality of food, but also the impact each choice in everyday life has on our environment and local community.
